Moving your child windows has never been easier. We've provided more control to you - the user - for moving, docking, and hiding child windows. UEStudio '09 offers more flexibility in placement of your child windows with tabbed child windows and auto-hide controls.

The easy-to-use child window dock control allows you to see exactly where your child windows are going and whether they'll be floating or docked.

Auto-hide controls are available in the top-right of child windows.

The new user interface is terrific and the ability to autohide on the windows is brilliant. It allows me to have the full screen for editing and the other windows at a mouse move.

New file tab controls give you more flexibility in opening and closing files. Just like with Firefox, you can now double-click the empty file tab space in UEStudio to open and create a blank new file; you can also middle-click an existing file tab to close it.

New: Integrated PHP Debugging with Xdebug

UEStudio '09 introduces vastly improved PHP support by integrating PHP debugging through locally running Apache/PHP and Xdebug (a popular, free PHP debugger). Setup only takes a few minutes, and all you need to do to start debugging is add your PHP application to a new project and select the integrated Xdebug debugger. You can configure UEStudio to launch debugging from the active document, pre-define your root web directory, then simply launch your PHP application in debug mode by clicking the Begin Debugging button on the debug toolbar.

Set breakpoints, step through, or run your script to the position of the cursor in UEStudio. All of this allows you to examine symbols in your script including variable and array values and memory addresses.

Enhanced: CVS support: Auto-discovery of CVS files

Version control has never been easier in UEStudio. Gone are the days of manually setting up VCS-controlled files/folders in your project. From now on, UEStudio will automatically detect files/folders under VCS and prompt you to import the CVS/SVN record and information for the files so you can continue to save to and from the VCS server through your project.

New: Javascript Lint integration

Keep your Javascript code - and your UEStudio scripts - bulletproof and beautiful with Javascript Lint! Run the Javascript Lint tool in UEStudio from the Format menu; UEStudio will parse the active .js file and return any errors or warnings to the output window.

New: Quick Open Address Bar

Access your files easier and faster with the new quick open address bar. The component is based on Windows explorer, providing you with drop-down suggestions as you type.

Enhanced: Improved FTP support

One of your favorite features has just gotten better... We've included a variety of new enhancements and improvements to all FTP components! These include, but are not limited to:

Full support for FTPS (Control only, Control and data, Implicit)
Redesigned, more intuitive Open from FTP/Save as to FTP dialogs
Ability to set a remote or local filter (provides filtering ability for SFTP)

New: Scripting access to the clipboard

Many of you have asked for easy access to the clipboard through scripting. Well, we've delivered with the enhanced UltraEdit.clipboardContent property in UEStudio '09. You can also set the contents of the clipboard by assigning a variable/string to the clipboard:

var myText = UltraEdit.clipboardContent;

or:

UltraEdit.clipboardContent = "My new clipboard content";

New: Include line numbers in "List lines containing string" dialog

Speed up your data mining and filtering with the new option to display line numbers in the "List lines containing string" dialog. The line numbers will remain with the data when you copy it to the clipboard as well.

Enhanced: Automatic large file detection

Tired of switching your config items on and off for large files? Let UEStudio handle it for you! UEStudio will now automatically detect when you're opening a large file and prompt you on a file-by-file basis to set the appropriate configuration items for each large file opened.
