The UEStudio tour is intended to guide you through some of the advanced IDE features of the application. UEStudio includes all of the features of UltraEdit, the world's best text editor, which are not covered here.

UEStudio tour: workspace manager

UltraEdit users will love the new workspace manager in UEStudio. It is a powerful interface that gives the user multiple methods of interacting with projects, solutions, files, resources, tags and much more! The workspace manager is dockable and by default is displayed to the left of the edit window. Its visibility may be toggled by pressing CTRL+U.

If desired, the Workspace Manager may be undocked and displayed as a "floating" window.

Navigation within the Workspace Manager is controlled using the six tabs at the top and bottom.

All users of UltraEdit-32 will be familiar with the project, open, explorer, and lists tabs and their functions:

Project - displays all files and folders associated with the active project
Open - displays all files currently open for editing
Explorer - displays tree structure interface to local and mapped drives
Lists - displays all user-configured lists which may contain preselected favorite files

UEStudio introduces three new tabs displayed at the bottom of the workspace manager: Tags, Res, and Files.

When the Files tab of the workspace manager is selected, the three tabs previously described from the top of the interface are present and provide a means of interacting with items open for editing, project files and folders, and mapped and local drives, folders, and files.

When the Res tab of the workspace manager is selected, a list of the resources associated with the active project is displayed in the workspace manager.
