NEW: Tree view for folder compare
You are no doubt accustomed to navigating through folders in a tree view fashion. So... shouldn't your folder mode compare results follow suit? Folder mode now displays the compare results in an intuitive tree-style view making it easier to quickly identify differences. Expand or collapse subdirectories to filter your compare results to a subdirectory. You can also quickly execute a new compare session by double-clicking a file or folder in the file tree.
NEW: Threaded folder mode
Folder mode has been re-designed to provide a significant performance boost. The threaded compare performs the processing in the background so the top-level folders are quickly processed as the recursive compare operates throughout the subdirectories allowing you to keep working without disrupting your workflow.
NEW: Change folder compare method on the fly
Sometimes you need to compare the file and folders content, sometimes you only need to compare the dates. UltraCompare v5.00 allowed you to switch modes in the configuration, but that just seemed slow and clunky. UltraCompare v6.00 places the folder compare type options at the top-level so you can switch modes on-the-fly - perform a basic compare (size and timestamp); a full compare of the file contents (binary); and even a smart compare (full compare using text mode compare and ignore options).
NEW: "Sessions" for multiple concurrent compares in the same window
Sessions are your way of working with multiple compares regardless of mode - all within one application. The tabbed interface allows you to easily toggle between multiple sessions. What's more, double-clicking a file/folder in folder mode will now open a new session within the same instance of UltraCompare.
NEW: Web compare allows you to download web files directly in UltraCompare
If you work with web files, you are probably accustomed to downloading the file via FTP or viewing the source, saving the text, then doing a compare. The all new web compare alleviates the extra steps and imports the contents of the web file for a quick and easy compare.
NEW: Inline editing allows you to edit your files in the compare frames
UltraCompare v5.00 allowed you to edit text directly in the active line window. Version 6.00 takes it one step further by providing you the ability to edit text directly in the compare frames.
NEW: Manually re-sync text comparison
Sometimes your files contain similar data in completely different parts of the file that need to be manually synced up for comparison. UltraCompare v6.00 allows you to right click any two lines and continue the compare from there.
NEW: Execution controls to start, stop, or refresh comparisons
Have you ever started comparing a large directory structure only to realize you mis-configured the desired options? What did you do... Force quit? When you're working with large directory structures, you need to have full control over the execution of the compare. UltraCompare's execution controls put you in control. Prepare your compare, click play to start... Need to stop entirely? Simply click stop to halt the comparison process altogether.

Do you diff sensitive customer data or proprietary source code? Make sure you're protecting your private data by using UltraSentry integration to securely delete compared files or temp files.

As of UltraCompare v6.00, UltraCompare will be available for the U3 drive - UC3. Imagine carrying UltraEdit and UltraCompare on a flash drive anywhere you go.
