Create Your Own TaskMatch™ Environment
TaskMatch™ Environments are a fantastic time-saving feature because they allow you to switch between configuration/options in a simple click rather than configuring each item individually. But, what happens if you want your own Environment that doesn't match the "out-of-the-box" Environments? Simple... Create your own!
To create a new environment you must first change the configuration items to suit your preferences. As a starting point, we suggest using a pre-configured Environment which closely resembles the Environment you have in mind. To switch Environments, simply go to the Environment Selector dialog in the View menu, or click on the Select Environment button on the main toolbar.
The items you can configure per Environment include:
- Menus
- Toolbars
- Application launch size and position
- Dockable windows - including size and position
- Template lists
When you have finished configuring the environment you will need to open the Environment Selector dialog from the View menu (or ALT+F8).
In the Environment Selector dialog, click "Save Current State As...".
You will now see the Environment Selector - Save dialog, in which you will see the "Current" environment name with the number 1 appended to the end. In the dialog, type the Name for the Environment as well as the desired description and Feature Set. When you are finished, click "OK".
After clicking OK, you will see that your "new" environment has been added to the list. To use the environment, simply select the name from the list and click Select Environment.
